We had an interesting 4th of July day! We had originally made plans to go to Galveston, TX and visit this amazing waterpark called Schlitterbaun (which we have both never been to, but its ranked the #1 water park in the US!!) then lay out on the beach that evening and watch the fire work display that Moody Gardens sets off!!
I was in my swim suit and Kyler was down for a nap! I was just getting the rest of the cooler packed and things organized to go while Jason was watching the news! What do ya know. . . he informed me that a huge thunderstorm was coming through the gulf right into Galveston beach. It was going to rain for several hours down there then be cleared up by around 7 pm. CHANGE OF PLANS for us!! BUMMER!!
So we then attempted to take Kyler to the splash pad over by us since we were all in our swim suits, but by the time we grabbed some lunch to head over there the skies got gray and the winds were picking up! They started shutting down the splash pad and kicking everyone out when we arrived! Now I was mad, because nothing was going our way and Jason was off of work so we wanted to have a fun day! It was already getting close to Kyler's second nap time so we went and rented "Fools Gold" (Super cute and funny movie btw!!) and ate our lunch at home!
When Kyler woke up we decided we were going to go across town to eat at this great BBQ place called Rudy's then go out to the Woodland's Mall area and watch their fireworks! It took Jason 45 minutes to stand in line to get our food so Kyler was cranky and wanting to run all over the entire restuarant! The food was a little cold when we got it, but it was food and we were hungry!
We arrived to the Woodland's area and found, what we thought was a great place on this grassy hill to watch the fireworks! We asked the people next to us where the fireworks were going to shoot off at and they pointed to this garage building! We had a perfect view!! Well, thats what we thought! As soon as the fireworks started they were not where the people had said and we just so happened to have an enormous building right in the middle of the display- Go Figure- but it wouldn't have been the end to our fabulously terrible day if it didn't end like that:)!! Thankfully, Kyler loved the fireworks and sat on my lap the entire time to watch them, but we could only see half of every firework that exploded!
