Destin, FL- May 2010

Our FIRST Family Vacation- Just the 4 of us!!

We topped off our crazy month of May with a weeks vacation in Destin, FL- they aren't kiding when they say white sands and emerald waters!! It was GORGEOUS!! We had the time of our lives and most of all the kids were having fun and we were on their schedule so it made vacationing so much more enjoyable!

The start of the drive- 10 hours to get to Florida!! Beautiful drive and went through 3 different states along the way so it made the drive more interesting! We stopped half way in Baton Rouge, LA going out there because we left Monday night after Jason got off work. But drove the whole way coming home and it wasn't bad at all! Camden earned his water doodle pad and Kyler earned his Lightening McQueen car which he has begged me for since he discovered the movie "Cars" at the beginning of May! They were such good boys on the drive!

We arrived in Destin about noon the next day and after filling our belly's with Olive Garden and checking into our hotel room, we hit the beach!!

It didn't take long for my boys to become the entertainment to the surrounding beach goers! Camden was cracking up crawling through all the sand and the kids behind him were getting a kick out of it!

Kyler made some friends and drew a crowd while they watched some big boys skim board!

That night, Kyler begged for the movie "Cars" but we weren't complaining because mommy and daddy were pooped!!

Next day out at the beach! We really just loved going to breakfast...to the beach...to the room for lunch and naps... some more beach...dinner...then maybe a night walk on the beach if we hadn't lost the kids to sleep or crankiness by then!! Definitely my type of vacationing!!:)

Camden had his naps like this sometimes while we still played at the beach!! He was such a trooper!

Back at the hotel pool! Kyler learned to swim so well with and without his life jacket while we were on vacation! We then put him in private lessons that started after we got home and he had no problem turning into a little fish!! Mommy still just feels much better when he has his life jacket on just in case:)

We took the kids to this Ice Cream shop called Brusters!! AMAZING chocolate raspberry truffel ice cream EVER! We went back a couple nights before we left! Something to look forward to every time we go back to Florida!! It was yummy!!

In pj's and ready for bed, but it was always play time on vacation!

One morning we rented bikes and rode them all over San Destin and the Baytown Warf! This was such a FUN day! The scenery in Destin is just beautiful and it was such an enjoyable day just riding with the kids! They loved it too!

At the Baytown Warf, Kyler saw this bungy trampoline a couple nights before when we came for dinner so we promised him he could do it when we rode bikes there! He was so excited! Still a little small to get too much height, but was happy and smiling the whole time!

After our day ride, we rode back (in a slight rain pour) to have naps and get cleaned up for dinner and a night ride back to the Warf.

This was the "kids suite" part of our room and it was perfect- equipped with a TV hung on the wall and bunk beds! Kyler slept on the bottom because we were too paranoid he would fall off and Camden still had to sleep in his pack-n-play or mommy would be having nightmares that he would fall through the rail on our balcony or something:)

They had so much fun sleeping in the same room and laughed and played and threw their blankets and pillows at each other. Eventually it would be silent and we wouldn't hear anything coming from their little nook and when I would go check on them they would both be out!! It was so cute listening to their fun and games!!

Our last night on the beach!! We went to the alligator farm and Kyler got to pet an alligator (actually, he practicaly gouged the things eyes out petting its face while the lady was holdng his head- crazy kid), but they wouldn't allow any pictures so I didn't get any of that! Then we took a night stroll on the beach and got to snap a few pictures before we had to call it quits to one of the best vacations we have had!!:( Not the last one though- we will be back!!:)
