Destin never seems to disappoint! We had such a fun family vacation and more important, undivided "daddy time" for the boys! I think that was their most favorite part!
This is the view of the harbor as your coming off the bridge into Destin!
This is the Hilton Sandestin Resort we stay at and this is a sunset photo on our first night there from our balcony!
We had to hit the beach the minute we got there, so we didn't get long before the sun started setting, but the boys couldn't wait!
I got Kyler and Camden these new san trucks, and thank goodness for those because they were entertained for days with them!
Our first morning, Camden and I enjoyed a bowl of cereal on the balcony while Kyler still slept and daddy was working out! Can't beat a breakfast view like this:)
Down to the beach for a FULL day of playing and fun!
Camden loved the beach and running around in the waves while they washed up to shore! He doesn't mind getting a little dirty so playing in the sand was so fun for him!
Playing catch with daddy...
and building sandcastles with daddy!
This is pretty much what Camden did most of the time, LOVED pushing his truck along the waves seeing how close they would get to his truck! Kyler did everything he could to stay out of the sand and NOT get dirty!:) He's my clean one!
Daddy wasn't the only one who could dig in the sand;) Camden and I were filling up his dump truck!
"YAY...We did it!"
Time to bury our toes in the sand!
SNACK BREAK! And of course a favorite of ours is the white cheddar cheetos!
That night we took the boys to The Baytown Warf and walked around! It was pretty much a ghost town in Destin this week because spring break was the week before! It was perfect! Kyler LOVES ice cream and that was a treat he wanted all the time!
So after dinner that night, we took the kids to Bruster's Ice Cream-MY FAVORITE! This is one of the reasons I look forward to going to Destin, they have amazing ice cream!
The next day on the beach, it wasn't long till I was being begged for MORE ice cream! It's my favorite treat too, so saying no is usually nonexistant!!!!!
Camden played hard and slept hard this whole trip, he was about out in the picture but never did fall asleep on the beach!
But upstairs while we watched endless episodes of the Animal Planet (where Kyler deveolped an even greater love for his animals) Camden managed to pass out every time in daddy's or mine arms!
The next day, Wednesday, we took a break from the beach and decided to rent bikes and go for a ride around Sandestin! The kids were pretending to lay out like all the "mommy's and daddys" after we had breakfast and went to check out the beach while we waited for our bikes to come!
Thursday, we played at the pools and for some reason I never took any pictures while we played at the pool, but Kyler only wanted to swim in the pools because they weren't "yucky" and sandy! So, pretty much everyday we went to the pools after time at the beach so Kyler could practice swimming! He remembered really well from last year and never wore his life jacket once! He was so proud of himself and so were we:)
Anyhow, after a day at the pool, we had naps and decided to book this Dolphin Cruise for the evening! It was a BLAST and perfect for the kids! Here we were waiting to leave the dock and the boys were restless!
Nothing a few strawberry smoothies couldn't fix and they were happy little boys!
Now we were off to look for dolphins!!!
How gorgeous is that home right off the bay in the harbor area! I had to snap a picture:)
Before we could find dolphins, the crew on the boat had bags of frito chips to feed the birds! They swarmed the back of the boat and all the kids were throwing the food at them and they were loving it!
Our first set of dolphins we saw! We saw 2-3 families of dolphins that swam in pods and one had a couple babies and there were 8-10 swimming together! It was really neat to see them in their natural environment!
This cruise was so family friendly and perfect for kids! The captain of the boat even had all the little kids on board come drive his boat for a little bit and gave us a chance to snap pictures (ones that were free and you didn't have to pay $15-$20 for!) Kyler was in heaven driving the boat! Even had to turn it from going towards shore during his time! So fun for him!
This is the glass bottom part of the boat, we didn't see anything down there, but the water wasn't too deep at all while we were down there!
We watched the sun set for a little bit while on board before we docked again! It is such a beautiful place in Destin! I wanted another family picture this year on the giant beach chair at the warf, so we drove over there that night after dinner to get a quick picture! If we go every year, this is going to become our tradition:)
Just shows how big this chair is:)
Silly boys...tickling the boys to get them to smile became a game and made for silly pictures this trip!!
Our last day on our trip was a really windy, chilly day! It was threatening to rain so the weather wasn't the best. Kyler didn't want to spend another day in the sand, so him and daddy stayed at the pools and Camden and I went down to play for a little bit! We walked along the beach and tried to play in the sand, but it was such a windy day! This video is of Camden enjoying his last windy day playing in the waves! The wind magnifies the sound on this video!
We left Destin at 4 in the morning to get half of the 10 hour drive out of the way before the kids woke up and got hungry! So, Jason drove the first part and I drove the second while he slept in the back with the boys...except if there is a movie on, Kyler was not about to fall asleep!!:)
