Kyler and Camden go to the Dentist...

OUR FIRST DENTIST VISIT- April 6, 2011!

**HUGE HUGE PROPS to my Pediatric Dentist (and my sweet friends who recommended me)! This experience was better than imagined for my boys! It was a FUN day and my kids loved every minute of it!**

Who would of thought FUN and LOVE would be in the same sentence as DENTIST AND KIDS! But, truly this was an amazing day for my kids! When we got there EVERYONE was saying "Hi" to my kids and making them feel special! Everything they did was mean't to be fun and NOT scary! After watching other big kids get their x-rays, Kyler actually sat in the big chair to get his done! He got to pick a green alligator to hold his x-ray slides in his mouth while the "camera" took "pictures"! Camden wasn't too thrilled about it yet, but he got to look into the "Camera lens" for "monkeys":)

They both got to lay on the table, wear fun sunglasses so the BIG flashlight wouldn't hurt their eye's and let the hygienist count their teeth!
Then they got flashlights and got to count the dinosaur, fish, and lion's teeth and put sunglasses on them too! Kyler was loving this as you can see!
 And Camden too!!
Did I mention that by now they had already been spoinled with stickers, Bob the Builder hats, new Lightening McQueen toothbrushes and a trip to the prize drawer! Yes- they know how to get kids to do what they want!!!
Kyler is counting the Dinosaur's teeth!
Dr. Pittman, the kids dentist, was so sweet to the boys and there was not one tear shed or a scary moment the entire time we were there! In this room we are in is when we talked about the concerns we have about Kyler's under bite and they looked in the kids mouths and counted teeth and looked at the x-rays. After this they thought Kyler did such a great job that he would be cooperative enough for an actual cleaning!

So he got to go out to this open room where all the cleaning chairs were set up and the kids all got to see each other getting their teeth cleaned so Kyler did not feel alone! They had a menu for the kids to pick their "toothpaste flavor" (the polish) and their "teeth vitamins" (the floride treatment). Kyler chose BUBBLE GUM for both- he is his daddy's kid for sure!

The hygenist even posed him in these next two shots so I could take pictures! This one with her "tools"...
and this one with the suction tool! He had fun playing and getting to try out the tools...LOVED the water squirter, "Mr. Squirt"!
By the end of the appointment he got a report card and his picture with his dentist and a goody bag to take home! NO CAVITIES so that was great news being as I am really the tooth brusher in the home right now and I have been a little lazy about it lately..oops! So, no cavity news was great for both boys!

We go to dr. Pittman too and the kids look forward to it even if they have to get tarter scraped off. I just read Kenna's 1st grade book she wrote all about our last trip to the dentist.
